What this book is about

This Destiny 1 Grimoire book collects Vanguard intelligence on the commanders who lead the Cabal, mostly on Mars. You read about Bracus Tho'ourg, who took the Buried City with only a fraction of the Cabal's forces, Bracus Tha'aurn and his apparent command over Psions, and Primus Sha'aull, whose Blind Legion pushes into Vex territory for reasons no one understands.

Other entries cover Valus Ta'aurc, whose tank marks the spread of the Exclusion Zone around Meridian Bay, and the Psion Flayers, a weapon some Warlocks believe holds Phobos in place. Two commanders now sit in the Prison of Elders: Val Aru'un, a Val in the eyes of fellow prisoners only, and Valus Trau'ug, who massacred his own officers and marked his legion as traitors to the Empire.

The book ends with a triumvirate blamed for many Guardian deaths on Mars: Valus Tlu'urn, Valus Mau'ual, and the Primus they serve.

Bracus Tho'ourg

Reports of the one they call Bracus Tho'ourg began in the earliest days of contact with the Cabal. The first Guardians who faced him are long lost, but the legends speak of a powerful commander who secured the Buried City with merely a fraction of the Cabal's forces on Mars. If these reports are accurate, they provide clues not only to Tho'ourg's tactical prowess but to the Cabal lifespan.
