What this book is about

This Destiny 1 Grimoire book catalogs the tools and vessels of the Hive. You get short descriptions of their weapons: the Shredder, which fires Void bolts through no visible mechanism, the Boomer and its "rotting starfire," and the Cleaver, the bone-and-metal sword a Hive Knight swings as if it wants to kill.

From there it moves to their machines. Tomb Ships slip through portals cut into space, and Shriekers stand guard over Hive sites. Some believe Shriekers are the eyes of powerful Wizards and Knights. Others say they are only guards, dead mass moved by Hive will.

The final entry changes format entirely. It is an urgent dispatch from Petra Venj to the Reef, reporting a massive Hive warship near Saturn. You read the Reef's first technical read on what the ship is and what it may be doing to the solar system, ending with orders to prepare for war.

Shredder

The Shredder, like so much Hive technology, appears to be an arcane joining of uncharted sciences that verge on magic. It has no discernable mechanism. But in the hands of a Hive warrior, it generates bolts of Void fire.
