What this book is about
This Destiny 1 Grimoire page covers Mercury, once said to be a garden world and now a sunbaked surface riddled with forgotten Vex structures where nothing lives anymore.
Most of the page is a report to Executor Hideo about a visit to the Caloris Spires. A fireteam of Guardians arrives at a site they were invited to and finds it empty: a Cult of Osiris camp built into Vex architecture, hung with fabrics and ritual objects, stocked with Glimmer, equipment and books. As they inspect the cultists' carvings, each member of the team starts to experience something strange, from a feeling of being buried inside a vast machine to an endless sense of deja vu. You also get a glimpse of how Mercury's sky and Sun appear from the surface.
A closing Ghost fragment, "Dreams of Alpha Lupi," reflects on the planet's split extremes and on what it may once have been.
Mercury
Legends say that Mercury was once a garden world. Now its surface, baked in the Sun's glare, is honeycombed with forgotten Vex structures. No life stirs here. Not anymore.
