What this book is about

This Destiny 1 Grimoire book covers the three races you can play as a Guardian: Humans, Awoken and Exos. Each gets a short introduction followed by Ghost Fragments that dig into their origins.

The Human fragments are mostly the diaries of Commander Jacob Hardy, pilot of Ares One, recalling the first crewed landing on Mars and the moment his crew reached the artifact that would become known as the Traveler. A final fragment comes from someone clinging to a half-lost memory of hope during Earth's ruin.

The Awoken entries include a report from a derelict vessel found on the first known voyage to the Reef and a newborn's memory of meeting a mysterious She. The Exo fragments ask why war machines were built with human minds, follow an Exo who shoots himself in the head to recover buried memories, and end with a soldier haunted by forgotten battles.

Human

Humans are survivors, tough and resilient, descended from those who built a Golden Age only to see it ripped away. Now, after an age of retreat and desperate struggle, they fight to take back their solar system and claim a new future.

There are those who believe the Traveler chose Earth for a reason. Now it is humanity's obligation to prove itself worthy of the Traveler's faith.
