Meeting the Nine

Players have visited the Nine's spaces many times. The Third Spire was Trials of the Nine's social space in Destiny 2's first year, removed with Forsaken. The Reckoning, in the Season of the Drifter in 2019, took place in the Haul. The Prophecy dungeon, from June 2020, is set in the IX Realms with the Emissary as guide. Since December 2021 Eternity has hosted Dares of Eternity and Xûr's Treasure Hoard. During Rite of the Nine, from May to July 2025, the Third Spire came back as a hub for three dungeons, and in The Edge of Fate the Nine are at the center of the story, including the death of III at Kepler.

In Destiny: Rising, NetEase's alternate timeline, the Nine run the Realms of the IX challenge modes and set Crota's End as a trial. Nothing confirms that they're the main timeline's Nine trying to fix Rising's timeline.
