The Forerunner

A relic from another reality

The Forerunner is an Exotic sidearm from Destiny 2's 30th Anniversary in December 2021, earned through Xûr's quest Magnum Opus. It's modeled on the M6D magnum from Halo: Combat Evolved. In its lore Banshee studies a broken relic of a sidearm built for a giant hand, and the quest says a matching part shares the Forerunner's paraversal origin: it came from another reality. That's the clearest hint Destiny gives that Halo's things come from another universe, though it never names Halo.
